Appeal Preparation

Google Merchant Center appeal letter examples for ecommerce stores.

The appeal should not be a complaint or a guess. It should be a short, factual summary of what Google flagged, what you investigated, what you fixed, and why the account is ready for review.

Appeal structure

Use this structure after the store, feed, policies, and business information have been cleaned up:

  • Acknowledge the issue named in Merchant Center.
  • Summarize the review you performed.
  • List the exact fixes made on the website, feed, policies, and account.
  • Confirm the store is ready for re-review.
  • Keep the tone calm, factual, and brief.

Example: misrepresentation review request

We reviewed the store after receiving the misrepresentation issue and updated the website and Merchant Center information for consistency. We corrected business contact details, clarified shipping and return information, reviewed product data for accuracy, removed unclear claims, and verified that checkout and policy links are working. Please re-review the account based on these updates.

Example: website needs improvement review request

We reviewed the website and fixed quality issues that may have affected review. We updated the contact and policy pages, removed incomplete page content, checked broken links, confirmed checkout functionality, and made product/shipping information clearer across the store. Please review the account again.

What not to write

Do not blame Google, write a long emotional appeal, claim everything is fixed without specifics, or request review before the visible issues are cleaned up. If the fixes are weak, the appeal wording will not save it.
